December

December 1st, they always open their Christmas pajamas! ☺️

Girl's Night Out!
We went to Chuck's Fish for supper and then to The Bama Theatre where Josie and Ella Kate danced in Where Are You Christmas?

The girls were amazing and Cora was so star stuck when she saw them after the show. ❤️

They had an audience for just them!

First Lightning League game!

Before and After
I added a little more gold in places and around the edge.

This kid. I like him.

Carport talks

These boys got the privilege to play during halftime at the Alabama basketball game!

Joe came to play!

Before and After
(It's light blue with dark wax)

Snow Day! AND a day out of school!!

They came in with their feet frozen and laid in front of the fire, without any instruction from me.
Picture perfect.
Until you focus on the dirty socks, front and center. πŸ™„

Mimi, Weezie and Joe came to play too. Joe Crow loves him some Jaden.

Teagan and Karragan were Angels in The Nutcracker. They were so pretty and danced just like angels.

Cora had to leave from the performance because she couldn't stop coughing and she had a fever.

The next day, we were supposed to go on the Polar Express with Mimi and Pops. Cora didn't feel good at all, so Nana said she could stay with them while the rest of us went on the train.
We really missed our sister, but had fun with everybody on the train.

Twinsies!

Mr. Drew was a good sport.

Santa and Mrs. Claus came to see us!

We were treated with a chocolate muffin and hot cocoa in a souvenir mug.

Thank you Mimi and Pops!

Lige wasn't about to leave any part of that muffin!

He enjoyed the hot chocolate too!

After the Polar Express, Nana suggested we come home and check on Cora.
With her rapid breathing and heart rate up, we decided to take her to the ED.
She was diagnosed with RSV and pneumonia. (Although it turned out not to be pneumonia, some branches in her right lung had collapsed and it was causing her to breath with a whistle.)

She was pitiful and not feeling good at all.

Her brothers knew how to make her smile though. She would light up when they FaceTimed her at night. ❤️

She was finally strong enough to take a shower. So she got cleaned up, fixed her hair, painted her fingernails and toenails and ate a sprinkle doughnut.

Finally on the 3rd day, she was feeding her Moosey and we knew we could go home. πŸ™Œ

She cleaned up the room!

We are so thankful for wonderful friends. Supper was prepared for us for the rest of the week and Cora's class and day school teachers made her a sign. Made us all cry, we were so happy.

They're all glad to be home together!

Wednesday, we had to take Anders and Elijah to the doctor. Thankfully it was not the flu, but just a bad sinus crud. Nobody was feeling good. 😞

Our "at home" pharmacy.

Saturday, the kids were well enough that I felt ok leaving them. We went to Bistro 218 and to The Alabama Theatre to see It's A Wonderful Life with The Snyders.

Tuesday night we took our annual trip to watch The Nativity with our highschool friends and their kids. We missed The Marcums though.

Ice skating fun!

Anders did great with the polar bear.

Jaden wouldn't let go of the side.

Cora hopped on the back of the polar bear and let Daddy skate around with her.

We all had the best time!

Lige still wasn't himself yet.

Finally he got an appetite back!

Being the fourth sibling, you never know who's going to get you out of the bed. Momma is so glad to have such good strong helpers!

Sunday school Christmas party was a blast!

The other kids and I didn't make it to Jaden's game, but Nana sent me pictures of him playing so good!

Sunday night was the children's musical.
Cora didn't sing a word-even though she sings the songs non-stop at home.

Anders sang, but made faces and moved around the entire time.

Jaden sang the songs, but was too cool to look at me for a picture.

We're proud of these kiddos.

Fun with the Barbie accessories

Tacky Christmas Wear.
Always homemade.

Christmas lights!

Cora loves to help make French Toast in the mornings.

Lige isn't too sure about her cooking...

Favorite toys!

It's Christmas break for the big kiddos.
We're happy to be able to sit and watch movies during the day finally!

Nana Fagan's Nativity is their favorite.

I want to freeze time.

One day, little brother.
I think he's fine just sitting here. Almost 16 months and hasn't tried to walk.

But can bust a move when the mood strikes!

He usually likes to be laid down and left alone. Today he said "Mommy" so sweetly that I had to stop what I was doing and rock him. I love this baby.

We had a wonderful Big Old Fashioned Family Christmas.
(There's another blog entry about the parties.)

We ended the year with a trip to the beach.
So much fun!

2017 was a great year, overall. We were healthy (for the most part), happy and blessed.
Can't wait to see what new adventures 2018 brings!
