I'm thankful for technology on long road trips.
I said that my kids would not have DVD players in the car because I never had them growing up. Why should they?
Never say never. Sometimes it's ok for there to be no noise. :)
First stop, if we go to the beach during the day. Brad likes to go at night... I think it's so we don't have to stop here.. But Nana is with us on this trip!
We hit the sand as soon as we unloaded the car!
It was nice to actually get to play with the kids. Usually I let Brad play with them and I'm holding the baby. This trip, Nana held Elijah and I got to play and build sandcastles!
This was Elijah's first real trip to the beach. (The last time he was here, he was about a month old.)
He had his fair share of sand to taste.
Sass
Little builder
He loved the beach!
I love this age!
Nana and Wijah
We rinsed off in the outside shower and swam in the pool for a little while before supper.
Anders and his best friend!
We gotta get a Virgin Miami Vice when we go to Sea N Suds.
They're $3.30, so we gotta share...
My bed Buddies for the night.
Each of the big kids took a turn each night sleeping with me.
Elijah has to sleep with me the first night, if we go on a trip. After that, he's usually good in his pack n play.
Morning snuggles :)
Nana makes the best breakfasts!!
Sure, let's go shoot out all of the Silly String on the porch!
My only beach picture of the day. We all had a fun day together!
These two play hard and fight hard, for sure.
Tickle fight!
It's not a beach trip, unless we go by the Shark Store.
He's so funny.
Dusk is the best time of day to be on the beach.
We lit some sparklers.
It's GO time!
They caught 3 crabs!
Tonight was Baby A's turn.
Elijah stayed with us for just a little bit and then went to his bed.
The boys bought 6 puzzles at Dirt Cheap.
They'd race to see who could finish first. Anders is surprisingly good at them!
Another gorgeous day!
This boy is a good sport!
They each took turns burying each other.
I made Anders' a time lapse video and didn't take a picture. :(
Girl loves her some corn.
Jaden helped Nana make a Tomato Pie for supper.
Sister's turn in my room. She wanted to sleep beside Elijah, on her cot.
Silly morning
Jaden FINALLY caught a fish!!
And made himself a one man pool!
We all jumped and rode the little waves today!
This is probably where Anders aspirated water.
There was no time at all when he seemed alarmed or worried about anything.
Not super out of the ordinary for Anders to take a nap. We've had long days and so much fun.
I'm so glad God was watching over him.
Cora helped Nana prepare supper.
Sweet Lijah
Time to hunt more crabs!
Cora would pick the crabs up with her bare hands! CRAZY GIRL
While walking back to the condo, Anders said he was out of breath and it was hard to breathe. He asked Nana to carry him up the stairs.
I told him to come on, it's not that far. We'll go to bed when we get there.
Of course Nana carried him up the stairs.
He said his heart was hurting.
It was 9:00. Everyone is tired.
I went to lay Elijah down and my mom started yelling to COME QUICK!
I ran in the living room and Anders was crying and couldn't catch his breath. Momma told me to take him to the Emergency Room NOW.
I loaded him in the car and he seemed fine. I called Brad and told him what was going on. We both concluded that it would be better to "waste" $150 copay than for something to really be wrong and we didn't take him.
Being a Thursday night at 9:00, we were the only ones in the waiting room. They had him back with an X-ray and in a room within 20 minutes.
He had aspiration pneumonia. I didn't know the severity of that until I got back to the condo and looked it up.
Anders could have died tonight if my mom hadn't pretty much MADE me take him in. I played the "What if" game for hours. I didn't sleep at all. I kept my eyes on my Baby A all night.
I'm so very thankful that God saw fit to let him stay with me a little longer.
Needless to say, we left first thing Friday morning and headed home.
We're loaded down and ready to be home and see Daddy!
