We're finally on our way to Waco Baby!!
I've been waiting for this moment for a long time.
So very excited!
-About a month ago Selena asked me if I wanted to go to Waco with her and a couple of teacher friends to run the Silo Marathon. (I wouldn't run, but just go with them.) Brad wasn't too helpful in helping me find places for the kids while I would be gone and he'd be at work... A couple of days later, he told me that he didn't want me to go without him to Waco for the first time. He wanted to see my reaction when I see Chip and JoAnna Land. Awww☺️
While standing in the check in line, Brad spotted Antoine Pettway in the TSA approved line.
I ever so slyly took his picture.
Then we turn around and Avery Johnson is walking up to join our line. We are at the front now and he's and the end. We wave and say Roll Tide (talking through about 60 people) and he says it back and smiles so big. So we go through the check in and get some Jim N Nick's while we wait to catch our plane. Coach Avery comes out and I've got Jaden on FaceTime so he can see Coach.
I'm telling you, this man is the nicest man you'll ever meet. He asked our names and asked about Jaden. I told him that Jaden attended his basketball camp last year. Coach talked about how he was changing it up a little this year and then said he was off to Colorado Springs to do some recruiting.
So cool. I'm a fan.
We waited literally 5 minutes and then boarded the plane. Got the exit seat with leg room. Yes!
Ahhh can't wait to watch some shows!
The flight was only an hour and a half.
When we got off the plane we were waiting for the Randolph's to pick us up, so I got a coffee and we saw all these people taking pictures with this tall guy... (The man on the right.) Brad kept wondering who he was, but wouldn't ask anybody, so I did. 🙄 I ain't scared.
There was a guy and girl that had their picture taken with him earlier and were standing to the side, so I asked who the man was. (Turns out they were interns.)
He's the CEO of Southwest!!
He seemed very nice and personable too. He talked to folks for a while, so we didn't get a picture WITH him.

The Randolph's left early this morning and drove to TX.
It was the oddest thing to see corn fields just in the middle of the city. They were beautiful fields, no weeds and so flat.

This was either Tyler or Cody's truck. I knocked on all the doors. If there was a chance of seeing one of them, I wasn't going to miss it.

(We found out on Twitter that Tyler was playing golf at this time.)

Kenny's Burger Joint
Dude Perfect had a hamburger eating competition in here. It was a 7 POUND burger with the fixings, plus chili, fries, cheese, you name it.
Neither Cody nor Coby finished it.
It was some amazing food.
Turns out, they've been open for like 4 years and only one person has finished the burger. She (yes, she) was a little 5 foot tall girl who walked in with her suitcase. She sat down, ordered the burger and ate it with 15 minutes left to go. After she received her prizes, she gathered her things and walked down the street to her next adventure.

This is Eric Locker.
He is one of the 4 guys that founded Kenny's Burger Joint. Alyson saw his name on the menu and then saw his name on his apron/jacket. So obviously we had to get a picture with the man. Super nice guy too.
Turns out, a lot of people are nice.
So... I set the alarm on my phone for 4:35. I set the "weekday" alarm. It's Saturday. 🤦🏼♀️

His shop was very clean.

There was a guy in there that bought a sign and asked if Jimmy Don could sign it before they shipped it to him. She told him that he's probably there.
My ears perked up. I walked outside to see if I could see him. I turned the corner of the front porch and Jimmy Don was walking around towards me. I was speechless. Literally. I stood there with my mouth open and couldn't say anything. He immediately said "Jimmy Don Holmes. How you doing?" Ahhhhh I know I looked ridiculous, but that was so amazing. So then Brad, Clay and Alyson came out and shook hands with him. He sat in the chair on the porch and we all talked for over 30 minutes. It was amazing. I keep reliving it in my mind and it seems like a dream.
He was talking about when Joanna first approached him about making something for her. He thought "My flag holders are going to make national television." He was pumped. Little did he know that HE was going to be on national television and become famous. He was just the nicest guy. He told us stories about his son's cabin that Fixer Upper did. It was in the next pasture.

I follow Kelly Harp on Instagram. One day she posted a tea from Pinewood Rosters. It was liquid tumeric mixed with milk and she loved it. So I looked up buying liquid tumeric. It's expensive. So while we were in town, I got a bottle for $12!
There were no signs for this shop.
It was the weirdest thing.

Laverty's is another antique shop that Joanna visits often.
They're only open once a month and will be open later in June.
They must do good business to only be open once a month.
